David Weymouth, Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Weymouth is the Chief Executive Officer of Optelian, which he co-founded in 2002. He has over 25 years of experience in management and design within the telecommunications industry. Prior to Optelian, he was Director of R&D for the Optical Network Solutions group at Fitel-PMX (acquired by JDS Uniphase) where he led a multi-disciplinary team that designed robust, cost-efficient DWDM systems. Early in his career, Mr. Weymouth was Manager of R&D for Mitel Semiconductor's hybrid design group after completing his degree in engineering.

Mike Perry, President
Mr. Perry is the President of Optelian, which he co-founded in 2002. Mr. Perry has over 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry serving the North American carrier market. Prior to Optelian, he was Director of Sales at Fitel-PMX (acquired by JDS Uniphase). Before Fitel-PMX, Mr. Perry was the Director of the USA Business Development program with Unitel Communications. Mr. Perry began his career at Bell Canada, where he held a variety of sales, management, training, and marketing positions.

Sheldon Walklin, Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Walklin came to Optelian in 2006 where he is CTO, responsible for technology strategy and overall product architecture as well as product design and development. Prior to Optelian, Mr. Walklin was Manager of hardware and software at Metconnex. Before Metconnex, he worked in R&D at Innovance, Research In Motion, and Nortel. In the mid '90s he pioneered research at TRLabs on advanced modulation formats for high-speed optical transmission. Mr. Walklin studied at the University of Alberta, graduating with a BSc in Electrical Engineering with distinction, and a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is a member of the IEEE Communications Society, Photonics Society and CREATE Program Committee for Next Generation Optical Networks.

Dave Mills, Vice President of Sales and Service
Mr. Mills joined Optelian Access Networks in September 2002, soon after it was launched, and has been a key element of its growth from a start-up through its position today as one of the industry's most respected optical transport solutions providers. His background of over 20 years in telecommunications, including technical and sales leadership roles in both the service provider and network equipment vendor organizations gives him a unique understanding of the needs of our customers.

Brenda Snarr, Vice President of Finance
Ms. Snarr is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) with over 25 years of experience in senior finance and administration positions. Ms. Snarr started her career as Controller at Spar Aerospace. In 1991, she joined the Canadian Intellectual Property Office as Director, Finance and Administration, where she staffed and managed a finance team of 30 people. In 1998, she went to Kanata Hydro as Director, Finance and Corporate Services. Ms. Snarr transitioned back to the high-tech community joining Spotwave Wireless as Controller in 2002, and Xmark Corp. (acquired by Stanley) as Corporate Controller in 2006. In 2007, Ms. Snarr joined the Optelian executive team and currently holds the position of Vice President of Finance. She is responsible for financial management, and financial and operational reporting.

Louise Boyling, Vice President of Corporate Quality and Administration
Ms. Boyling has worked for over 15 years in the high-tech sector after studying Business Administration and Human Resource Management. Ms. Boyling began as Senior Manager Human Resources at Entrust, where she was instrumental in facilitating the growth of the company from 30 employees to 1200 employees. In 2002, Ms. Boyling provided human resources consulting services to the federal government supporting the information technology sector. In 2004, she joined the Versatel Networks executive team. Ms. Boyling came to Optelian in 2006. She is the Vice President Corporate Quality and Administration, where she is responsible for human resources, quality, administration, IT and facilities management.

Dennis Isotti, Vice President of Operations
Mr. Isotti brings more than 25 years of experience in the manufacturing, defense and communications industries to Optelian. Mr. Isotti started his career at Gandalf Data Limited. In 1990, he joined Newbridge Networks (later acquired by Alcatel) and, during his tenure, advanced to Director of Operations Program Management. In 2001, Mr. Isotti joined Meriton Networks as Director of Operations where he established the initial operations infrastructure and processes. He later joined Allen Vanguard Technologies in 2008 and was promoted to VP, Global Operations. Most recently Mr. Isotti has held positions as Director of Operations with Solace Systems and Plant Manager with Sanmina-SCI Corporation. As VP of Operations at Optelian, he is responsible for supply chain management, manufacturing, engineering support services, and logistics groups.

Brian Pratt, Vice President of Product Marketing
Mr. Pratt joined Optelian in 2013. As Vice President of Product Marketing, he is responsible for defining products and bringing them to market. Mr. Pratt has over 25 years of experience in telecom marketing and sales. Prior to Optelian, he was Vice President of Business Development for the Kindsight team at Alcatel-Lucent, where he was responsible for go-to-market execution, sales, and channel management. Before Kindsight, he was Director of Sales and Solutions at Meriton Networks, where he gained experience in optical transport systems. Mr. Pratt also established operations for Nexus Telecom in the Americas after beginning his career in systems and software engineering with Northern Telecom. He has an MBA from the University of Ottawa, and a BSc in computer science and math from Carleton University.

Nemer D. Abourizk, General Counsel
In his role as General Counsel, Mr. Abourizk directs Optelian's legal activities in support of the company's business, including sales and licensing, operations, HR and IP management. Mr. Abourizk serves as General Counsel for an evolving portfolio of mid-sized technology corporations. Within these roles, Mr. Abourizk has successfully managed numerous acquisitions and private placements. He has also negotiated complex, multi-year, multi-million dollar agreements for the sale of products/software to Tier 1 vendors and manufacturers located in North America, Europe, South East Asia and Japan. Mr. Abourizk is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and holds a Bachelor of Law, a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Applied Sciences (Chemical Engineering) degree. Mr. Abourizk was selected as a 2006 Forty Under 40 award recipient by the Ottawa Business Journal.
