Blackfoot Communications delpoys LightGAIN

Optelian a designer and manufacturer of optical transport systems, revealed that its LightGAIN 40-channel DWDM system has been deployed by Blackfoot Telecommunications Group.

Blackfoot Telecommunications started its service as a rural telephone cooperative in 1954 and today, the group stands as the largest private Vo IP network in Western Montana, with four companies offering state-of-the-art telecommunications services to nearly 20,000 customers.

As the company was experiencing increased customer demand for new 10 Gbps and GbE services and as its existing fiber ring was nearing exhaust, the company believed that by deploying the LightGAIN 40-channel DWDM system, it can quickly add additional capacity.
