RGN-10XO

RGN-10XO converts a 10 Gb/s signal (e.g. OC-192 OR 10 GbE) into an OTU2 signal for enhanced reach and fault localization. The RGN-10XO enhances network reliability and fault localization for 10 Gb/s optical transmission using SONET/SDH and OTN overhead monitoring. It provides strong forward error correction (UFEC) for extended reach.

The RGN-10XO supports protection switching based on electrical signal quality, and performance monitoring and alarming based on SONET/SDH B1/B2 and OTN SM/PM/TCM BIP-8 as well as pre-FEC error counters. Trace insertion and mismatch alarming are also supported on all SONET/SDH and OTN overhead monitors.

Through synchronous re-timing, signal timing is transported transparently through the RGN-10XO, independently for each direction, and OTN overclocking is supported to digitally wrap 10 GbE LAN or 10GFC client signals into an OTU2 wrapper
