Optelian Establishes Distribution Alliance in Kathmandu

Optical Transport Systems provider Optelian expands into Nepal

Kathmandu, Nepal: Lotus Holdings, www.lotusholdings.com.np, is a large umbrella organization of more than 15 companies involved in IT, consulting services, manufacturing, and trading/social development in Nepal.

In the area of telecommunications, Lotus Holdings provides ISP services, through its subsidiaries E-Net and Fiber Online, and provides system integration services to telecommunications providers throughout Nepal. Lotus also provides consultancy and design services on optical fiber projects.

We are excited that Lotus Holdings will be promoting Optelian’s LightGAIN systems, since it gives us a strong presence in a market that has been untapped for us.

Optelian’s LightGAIN family of optical transport products is a universal platform with solutions for regional, metro, and access networks.  It can be a regional (long-haul) 40+ channel DWDM configuration carrying mixed traffic from 10M to 10Gbps, traversing 1,000 km with multiple add-drop nodes along the way.  Or, it can be a simple access oriented 8-channel CWDM solution. In both cases LightGAIN is the most cost effective carrier-grade solution available. Lotus Holdings will also introduce LightPRO, Optelian’s recently introduced line of optical test and turn up equipment.
