LightGAIN MPX-3GOTN Muxponder

The Optelian MPX-3GOTN muxponder increases bandwidth, extends reach, enhances network reliability and fault localization. Up to 4 client channels, each at any rate of OC-48/STM-16 or OTU-1, are aggregated and OTN digitally wrapped into an OTU-2 10.7 Gb/s signal. Aggregation is asynchronous, allowing the timing for each client to be independently and transparently carried through the network.

Reach can be extended by 6 dB using G.709 GFEC, or by 8.2 dB through UFEC SuperFEC encoding.

Path protection and QoS monitoring are provided by BIP-8 SONET/SDH/OTN error counts, OTN monitoring, and optical monitoring with AIS generation and Trace and AIS alarming.

The MPX-3GOTN supports protection switching based on electrical signal quality, and performance monitoring and alarming based on SONET/SDH B1/B2 and OTN SM/PM/TCM BIP-8 as well as pre-FEC error counters. Trace insertion and mismatch alarming are also supported on all SONET/SDH and OTN overhead monitors
