LightGAIN RGN-200 Reach Extender/Wavelength Converter

The Optelian LightGAIN RGN-200 is a data rate and protocol independent ITU transponder designed for the Access and Metro market. The RGN-200 is ideally compatible with the L-130, 13 channel DWDM Cassette and L-040 4 Channel Cassette (see application note page 2).

The any rate, 3R, (reshape, regenerate and re-time), design ensures error free operation with data rates from 45Mb/s to 2.7 Gbps supporting all SONET, Asynchronous, and DataComm Rates over the entire C band.

Legacy products can now be mapped to the ITU grid to take full advantage of the cost savings offered by DWDM. Receiver sensitivity of -30 dBm and the high launch power of > 0 dBm significantly extends the optical link distances at low cost. Seven segment LED’s and alarm contacts facilitate local alarm management while an in-band management channel allows remote configuration, management and alarm monitoring.

The RGN 200 requires no maintenance and installs easily in the LightGAIN OMS 519, (Optical Mounting Shelf).
