LightGAIN RGN-248 3R Reach Extender / Wavelength Converter

The Optelian LightGAIN RGN-248 is a data rate and protocol independent optical regenerator designed for the Access and Metro markets. Link distances are extended by converting the 1310 or 1550 nm signal to a 1550 nm signal for extended reach applications. Also suitable for WDM applications.

The any rate, 3R, (reshape, regenerate and re-time), design ensures error free operation with data rates from 45Mb/s to 2.7 Gbps supporting all SONET, Asynchronous, and DataComm Rates over the entire C band.

Receiver sensitivity of -30 dBm and the high launch power of 0 dBm significantly extend the optical link distances at low cost. An LED digital display with Touch Control Panel facilitates the management of local alarms.

The RGN 212/248 is enclosed in a stainless steel screwless case that requires no maintenance and installs easily in the LightGAIN OMS 519, (Optical Mounting Shelf).
