LightGAIN MGT-OSC Optical Network Management Card

The MGT-OSC provides system management for LightGAIN shelves in conjunction with Optelian’s ONM-200 software. With its internal multi-port Fast Ethernet switch, multiple shelves and locations are managed on a secure network with numerous interconnectivity options available.

Two LAN ports connect local shelves or remote sites. If a LAN infrastructure is unavailable, remote locations can be interconnected over the fiber using an Optical Service Channel wavelength carrying Fast Ethernet management services.

Two pluggable OSC SFPs, along with two partner multiplexing MDX-OSC cards, support a bidirectional east and west optical service configuration.

While the typical OSC wavelength is 1510nm, pluggable optics will allow any OSC wavelength compatible with Optelian’s MDX passive family to be used.

Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP) support further optimizes network management performance and provides protection paths for management against network faults.
