LightGAIN MPX-81-EX
The Optelian MPX-81-EX Ethernet muxponder provides cost effective and scalable Ethernet transport for up to eight GbE clients. It is easily configured for use in a variety of applications.
It can be used as a simple 8-to-1 GbE aggregator in a book-ended configuration to free-up fiber for new services.
It can be used to extend Ethernet LANs or WANs over optical networks via Provider Bridge VLAN.
In addition to layer 2 switching capabilities, the MPX-81-EX supports both 10 GbE LAN and WAN (SONET/WIS) network interfaces. It can therefore act as a LAN PHY to WAN PHY converter to allow 10 GbE LAN signals to be transported over SONET networks.
