GigE Extension

GigE Extension extends the reach of a Gigabit Ethernet channel. A device that provides GigE Extension can be placed at either a client or customer premise location or at a mid-span location. These devices can provide 28dB of gain and extend the reach of a GigE channel 60km to 80km.

The Optelian RGN family of regenerators can provide reach extension for Gigabit Ethernet channels as well as 10GigE channels. In addition they can provide mode conversion and wavelength conversion.
