Regional Sales Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a sales plan to deliver assigned objectives while ensuring maximum sales bookings and revenue objectives.
  • Identify marketing and sales opportunities using best approaches working toward assigned sales objectives.
  • Will be responsible for establishing new accounts via prospecting, qualifying, selling and closing services and products to telecom, MSO and utility and enterprise verticals.
  • Will be responsible for tracking customer information, forecasts and reports.
  • Will develop and maintain prospect and customer list based on strategic marketing data and other sources for sales leads in our CRM system.
  • Identify key areas of opportunity by reviewing customers, competitors and market trends, leveraging your understanding and industry know-how and/or connections (e.g. Telcos, MSOs, WISPs, Data Center Operators and Mobility).
  • Maintain personal relationships with targeted companies at manager, engineer and back office levels. This would include network architecture, planning, engineering and other meaningful customer personnel.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all products and solutions.
  • Up to 75 percent travel required within the US.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to close sales.
  • Proven ability to articulate technical solutions.
  • Proven ability to accurately forecast sales projections.
  • Undergraduate degree (or equivalent work experience) in a business, marketing and sales, electrical or mechanical engineering, or related field of study.
  • Ability to sell a portfolio of products which include a full range of optical transport products and solutions (e.g. DWDM, CWDM, ROADM).
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience with layer 0, 1 and 2 complex optical networking systems.
  • Knowledge and experience with Tier 1, 2 and 3 carriers in the US.
  • Thorough understanding of CWDM, DWDM, ROADM and other optical networking solutions.
  • Have the ability to assess and understand customer’s Power Base and decision processes.
  • Demonstrated success of attaining and exceeding business objectives and revenue targets.
  • Proven ability to clearly articulate a value proposition to engineers, managers and executives.
  • A self – starter with excellent time management skills.
  • Team oriented with ability to accept guidance and coaching.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and professional demeanor to facilitate building strong working relationships at all levels within a customer organization.

Jr. Regional Sales Manager

Optelian is currently seeking highly motivated and outgoing individuals to join its Sales team for the Central Region. We are looking for individuals that have great customer relationship building skills, someone who has 3-5 years of work experience in a sales or related role, who wants to take the next step in their career. This is a great opportunity to receive mentorship, as well as sales and technical training in optical telecoms, whereby you will be part of a creative and passionate sales team.

You will be responsible for and learn to;

  • Analytical skill set, strong presentation skills, professional outgoing demeanor to facilitate building strong working relationships at all levels within a customer organization.
  • Team oriented with ability to accept guidance and coaching.
  • Undergraduate degree (or equivalent work experience) in either business, marketing and sales, electrical or mechanical engineering, or related field of study.

Optelian is looking for a Senior Technical Project manager to plan and drive all internal and external deliverables related to the fabrication, qualification and deployment of our hi-speed electro-optics modulators. You will work directly with members of the development team and produce technical and status reports for senior management. The Senior Technical Project Manager will report to the Versawave Division Business Unit Leader.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain project plans with input from product management, R&D, product marketing, operations, etc.
  • Manage all phases of projects from design through to delivery
  • Responsible for the tracking cost, schedule, and deliverables
  • Reviewing status of projects and budgets, managing schedules and preparing technical reports and status updates
  • Internally reporting the status updates of cost, schedule and deliverables to senior management
  • Responsible for the planning and chairing of weekly project meetings
  • Conducting risk assessment, monitoring issues and developing resolutions
  • Acting as a liaison between senior management and the project team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience
  • Experience with electro-optics in semiconductors and satellite industries
  • Good understanding of product development process – managing from end to end
  • Ability to develop rapport with peers to maintain strong working relationships
  • Masterfully uses organizational knowledge to maneuver through formal and informal channels to get things done quickly and effectively
  • Previous experience interacting and reporting to the Canadian or European Space Agencies an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and perform a variety of concurrent tasks with minimal direction
  • Ability to lead productive meetings through preparation, leadership, and time management
