Key Responsibilities

  • Work with software team to define new software feature requirements
  • Develop and maintain embedded software applications
  • Document, review and execute unit test cases
  • Report feature schedule and progress
  • Provide support throughout the product verification cycle
  • Participate in code inspections

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  • 3+ years of C/C++ development experience in embedded real-time operating system
  • Knowledge of distributed real-time, multi-threaded application development
  • Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated

Assets

  • Knowledge of optical telecommunications (DWDM/OTN/SONET)
  • Linux application development
  • Scripting experience (TCL/Expect/Python)
  • WebNMS, Hibernate, Eclipse

Senior Embedded Software Architect

Optelian is looking for a Senior Embedded Software Architect Manager to fulfil a key role in the development and maintenance of existing and next-generation optical transport products. The ideal candidate will have highly specialized domain knowledge and will work on multiple projects to provide leadership on technical standards, processes, tools, and platforms. Key responsibilities:

  • Act as the technical authority for core software areas
  • Define architecture(s) and work closely with project team members to ensure design and implementation are consistent
  • Drive software quality policies including code inspections, submissions, stream management and verification
  • Develop new application infrastructure to support new hardware requirements
  • Create tools for hardware team during new product development and troubleshooting
  • Proactively identify issues with software architecture and propose solutions
  • Assist developers when debugging complex application design issues
  • Provide General guidance and troubleshooting for embedded Linux systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  • 10+ years of hands-on embedded software development experience in C/C++
  • Proven track record in shaping system architecture(s) and implementation
  • Demonstrated leadership
  • Hands-on experience with PowerPC and Arm architectures
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills with complex multi-threaded applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Assets

  • Understanding of optical communications systems and object-oriented design
  • Knowledge of embedded Linux distributions, kernel contexts and device drivers
  • Multi-core development and debugging

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Will be responsible for New Business Development via prospecting, qualifying, selling and closing services and products to Multichannel Video Programming Distributors
  • Portfolio of products to sell include a full range of  optical transport products, systems and solutions: e.g. DWDM, CWDM systems at the Optical and Circuit layers
  • Will manage client relationship through all phases of the sales cycle
  • Will conducts one-on-one and group sales presentations
  • Will be responsible for tracking customer information, forecasts and reports
  • Will develop and maintain prospect and customer list based on strategic marketing data and other sources for sales leads in our CRM system
  • Will have proven track record of establishing new accounts (hunter)
  • Will have a proven track record of closing accounts

Qualifications

  • Highly motivated
  • Must be a self-starter
  • 10+ years of sales or sales engineering experience to cable operators (MVPDs)
  • Track record of sales success having worked with both smaller and larger customers
  • Analytical skill set, strong presentation skills, ability to interact with any level within an organization
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently as well as within a team
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Willingness to travel extensively in North America

Alternate Channel and Regional Sales Manager

Optelian is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Alternate Channel and Regional Sales Manager to join its US Sales team. What makes Optelian different? You have a voice.   • Responsible for the development of indirect revenue within the US by working closely with channel partners.  Will develop and maintain business relationships with key channel partners including system integrators and value added resellers.
  • Responsible for New Business Development via prospecting, qualifying, selling and closing services and products to telecom, MSO, and utility and enterprise verticals
  • Portfolio of products includes a full range of  optical transport products and solutions, such as DWDM, CWDM, and ROADM
  • Manage client relationships through all phases of the sales cycle
  • Conduct one-on-one and group sales presentations
  • Provide account management of an existing territory
  • Responsible for tracking customer information, forecasts and report
  • Develop and maintain prospect and customer list based on strategic marketing data and other sources for sales leads in our CRM system
  • Establishing new accounts (hunter)

Qualifications, skills, experience

  • Must understand what is required to successfully create and build a reseller channel
  • Must be able to demonstrate sales record (10+ years) at a high level of achievement
  • Solutions-selling experience in any one or all of the following areas: Telecom, MSO, Utility and Enterprise verticals
  • Must know how to translate product features into benefits that solve real customer problems
  • Must be able to articulate a unique value proposition to various levels within a customer organization
  • Must have a proven track record of closing accounts
  • Ability to develop relationships at many different levels within channel organizations including engineering, business stakeholders, and executive management
  • Must have strong negotiating and closing skills
  • Must be a self-starter and self-motivated
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent work experience) in Business, Marketing and Sales, or related field of study
  • Must be able to multi-task, and to work independently or within a team
  • Must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor

National Account Manager

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Operate as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to our customers
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key customer stakeholders and executive sponsors
  • Coordinate multi-level and multi-regional sales support from sales team members
  • Ensure the timely successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives
  • Communicate clearly the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
  • Forecast and track key account metrics
  • Identify and grow opportunities within territory and collaborate with sales teams to ensure growth attainment
  • Assist with high-severity requests and issue escalations as required

Qualifications, skills, experience

  • 7+ years of account management or other relevant experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs
  • Highly organized to maximize supportive resources
  • Candidates must have a selling background that includes a minimum of 5 years in optical access and/or transport solutions
  • Working knowledge of CWDM and DWDM systems is preferred
  • Minimum of 60% travel will be required
  • Proven track record selling to Tier 1 customers or relevant Network Service Provider experience
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Bachelor’s degree (Arts or Science) or equivalent
