Deploying 100G everywhere affordably
Ottawa, ON/Marietta, GA —
Optical networking solution provider Optelian announces the newest member of its 100G portfolio, furthering its contribution to enabling 100G-based services everywhere
In addition to the currently available MPX-9110 and recently announced MPX-9105 100G solutions, Optelian introduces the MPX-9102 multi-service muxponder targeted for network edge, CPE and data center deployments. This 1RU platform supports up to 10 multi-protocol 10G client interfaces multiplexed over a single 100G industry-standard “open optics” CFP interface.
The new MPX-9102 is specifically designed for lowest cost and lowest power consumption, enabling network operators to economically position the 100G demarcation device at the customer point-of-service. In deploying the 100G delivery platform in the customer service endpoint location, service providers can finally provide ubiquity of service with full network management awareness. The MPX-9102 has a comprehensive performance monitoring capability set and supports General Communications Channel for in-band remote network management. This maximizes service availability and minimizes service interruption recovery time, resulting in low OPEX and lowest total cost of ownership. In addition to service provider deployment, the MPX-9102 is ideal for enterprises, particularly in data center applications.
“We listened to what our customers wanted and designed the product accordingly,” said Optelian CTO Sheldon Walklin. “This purpose-built solution combining lowest cost, low power consumption and full management awareness opens up the ability for network operators to affordably use the MPX-9102 wherever the application is needed.”
Optelian commits to ongoing expansion of the 100G-based portfolio, based on customer-driven requirements, and continues to strengthen the company’s position in this market space.
